there is a plaque on the north east exterior corner of the Chicago Cultural Center. It claims that site as the location of Pointe's place. Do you think it accurate? Is the relocation and reconfiguration of the River's mouth confusing things?
I never noticed that! The river did bend and flow differently, they know that, so it seems unlikely—but I’ll look into this. Thanks for bringing it up. Either way it should be interesting. I will report back.
Oh boy, this could be another rabbit hole.
Don't forget, there was a time the Sun-Times docked a boat on the river, next to their building, for months at a time to store newsprint.
