there is a plaque on the north east exterior corner of the Cultural Center claiming to be the site of Pointe's place. is this due to the reconfiguation and relocation of the river's mouth?

there is a plaque on the north east exterior corner of the Chicago Cultural Center. It claims that site as the location of Pointe's place. Do you think it accurate? Is the relocation and reconfiguration of the River's mouth confusing things?
